What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so it can recognise your browser on the next request. Similar technologies (local storage, session storage) do the same job for different data. This policy covers all of them.
What we set
We use three categories of storage:
- Strictly necessary — the session cookie that keeps you signed in, a CSRF token that protects form submissions, and the consent flag that records your choice on the cookie banner. Without these the Service cannot function, so they are set automatically and cannot be declined.
- Preferences — theme (light / dark / system), language, and small UI state such as which help drawer tab you opened last. Held in your browser’s local storage; never sent to a third party.
- Analytics — we do not run third-party analytics on the marketing site or on signed-in surfaces today. If we add a privacy-preserving, self-hosted analytics tool (such as Plausible or a Cloudflare Web Analytics equivalent), we will list it here and give you the option to decline through the cookie banner before it starts.
Third-party cookies
The Service does not embed third-party marketing pixels or ad networks. Third-party cookies you may encounter come from features you explicitly use:
- Payment providers — a payment session may set a cookie on the provider’s own domain when you check out.
- Embedded video / SCORM — some content packages set their own cookies to remember playback position.
How to manage cookies
You can accept or decline non-essential cookies from the banner shown on your first visit. You can change your mind later by clearing your browser storage for our domain, which resets the banner. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies globally — Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge all keep the setting under “Privacy”. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will sign you out.
Changes to this policy
We keep this page in sync with what the Service actually sets. If we add or remove a category (for example, we turn on privacy-preserving analytics), we update this page and re-prompt you on the banner before the change takes effect.
